A specialist physiotherapist in amputee rehab will address delegates at this year’s EDFN National Conference on May 8.
Lauren Joseph, who has worked with amputee patients for 13 years, will deliver the session, Amputation Recovery and Rehab, which will cover the realities and challenges of providing amputee rehab to the diabetic patient.
Her session aims to help delegates:
- Understand the purpose and practicalities of delivery amputee rehab
- Understand the challenges of working with diabetic amputees
- Understand the factors influencing successful rehab in diabetic amputees.
Since 2015, Lauren has been Lead Physiotherapist at the Amputee Rehab Unit at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. She manages a diverse caseload of adult patients with lower limb and multi-limb loss due to vascular, traumatic, and orthopaedic causes.
In 2025, Lauren undertook a secondment with Dorset Orthopaedic, providing her with experience of working both within the NHS and the private sector.
She is a member of the British Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Amputee Rehabilitation (BACPAR).
