Podiatrists are encouraged to complete a survey about supply of medicines to their patients ahead of the next EDFN webinar which will focus on this issue.
The free, online webinar, which is aimed at all registered podiatrists, is taking place on Tuesday, December 9th at 7pm.
In the context of some GPs no longer agreeing to completing prescription requests for medication from podiatrists, the EDFN webinar will encourage more podiatrists to work to their full scope of practice in POM-S, Patient Specific Directions and Patient Group Directions, and signed orders.
Expert speakers will focus on the three main areas of pathology – anti-infective, pain control and inflammation control – with the aim of educating and encouraging clinicians to fully use their scope of practice, deliver medication in a holistic manner at the patient’s first point of contact and support patient outcomes.
The webinar aims to break down barriers by addressing concerns around medicines provision by podiatrists in NHS and independent practice.
Ahead of the event, all registered podiatrists have been urged to complete an EDFN survey about the use of medicines by podiatrists.
