New careers campaign launched by the Royal College of Podiatry

A campaign has been launched to reshape public perception of podiatry and attract the next generation of people to the profession.

The Royal College of Podiatry’s new careers campaign and brand, Inspire Movement, Choose Podiatry, aims to raise awareness of the profession by showcasing podiatry as a dynamic, rewarding, and satisfying career choice.

The goals of the campaign are to:

  • Increase applications to undergraduate and apprenticeship programmes
  • Support career transitions into podiatry from other healthcare roles and other careers
  • Grow the number of registered podiatrists by 2030
  • Build long-term engagement and visibility for the profession.

The campaign is aimed at young people aged 15–18, especially those interested in science, sport, and healthcare; mid-life career changers, from any profession, but especially ex-athletes and armed forces personnel; healthcare professionals looking for better work-life balance and career growth; science and healthcare graduates and physio and sports science applicants in clearing.

The campaign – which reflects podiatry’s core values of mobility, autonomy and the power to help people live pain-free, independent lives – will include targeted advertising on social media and careers events, and will run until university clearing ends in October.

The College is back on the road from late summer promoting podiatry as a career and is also championing the new podiatry courses and apprenticeship degrees that have started this year.
