Would you like to join a progressive and busy diabetes podiatry service, working within the beautiful county of Gloucestershire? Then this job is for you!
Due to the continual development & progression within our highly skilled podiatry department, we are excited to offer an amazing opportunity for a Band 7 podiatrist specialising in diabetic foot care to join our friendly and dynamic team.
You would join our dedicated diabetes specialist podiatrists working within an integrated team based at Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General hospitals. As part of an acute care team, you will be managing high risk patients with complex medical needs. You will be an integral member working within our diabetes multi-disciplinary team alongside our diabetes, vascular and orthopaedic colleagues, therefore you will need excellent diagnostic and clinical skills, plus communication and team building skills are essential. You will have an opportunity to treat complex patients within the outpatient and in patient setting and will also work with our orthotists and plaster room technicians to provide a full team approach.
A non-medical prescribing certificate is essential. ( If you do not hold one, then training will be expected to be completed within the first twelve months of employment.)

Main duties of the job
-Advanced clinical specialist in the management of the diabetic foot and associated complications.
-Implement, monitor and evaluate evidence-based, specialised and individualised care programmes for patients with diabetes. These include acute or chronic neuropathies, vascular insufficiencies, infection, osteomyelitis and advanced complex wound management.
-Training and development in the assessment and care of the diabetic foot, to involve prescribing, referring to related specialities , education and patient empowerment.
-Working within an MDT specialist team in an outpatient and inpatient settings.
