Diabetes Specialist Podiatrist

The post holder will have the responsibility for undertaking speciality services for patients who require diagnosis/assessment and/or investigation and/or treatment including wound care management of high-risk groups (predominantly patients with diabetes) as part of the service.

Depending on experience, the post holder will act independently in the management of an often complex and chronic caseload for those practising at an Advances Podiatrist (band7) level.

For those practising at a band 6 level, additional support and competency guidance will be provided by the Principal Podiatrist and senior clinicians. Once competencies are completed, the candidate will have the opportunity to progress to an Advanced Podiatrist. This will be assessed via competency interview. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosis and treatment planning for these patients.
