Following Insulin Safety Week 2024, a series of case studies have been released to commemorate these efforts and share best practice across the healthcare sector.
The case studies provide an in-depth look at the diverse strategies employed by various healthcare settings during the campaign, emphasising the remarkable impact achieved. From engaging competitions and instructional videos to focused communications and educational sessions, the initiatives have significantly advanced insulin safety awareness and practices.
Emily Mayhew, campaign manager for Insulin Safety Week, said: “With over 500 sites participating in this year’s campaign, we saw a huge impact. Examples include United Lincolnshire Hospitals, which reached 8,704 people through a variety of activities including social media, educational stands, and ward rounds.
“By sharing the experiences and lessons learned, we hope to inspire other healthcare facilities to adopt similar strategies, thereby amplifying the overall impact of insulin safety initiatives.”
The newly published case studies serve as a testament to the creativity and dedication of healthcare professionals in promoting insulin safety. These case studies not only highlight the innovative approaches taken but also underscore the collective effort towards improving patient safety.
